John Vawter studied at the University of Oregon (BS), Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (MDiv), and Bethel Seminary (DMin).  His ministry history includes 10 years with CRU (Campus Crusade for Christ), pastoring in Minnesota and Arizona, and serving as president of both Western Seminary and Phoenix Seminary.

For the past few years he has done interim pastorates, trained pastors overseas, consulted with churches, and spoken at conferences on the subject of male friendship from a book he co-authored, “Achieving High Performance Friendship.” Serving now with CAM, John continues to minister in these same areas.

John is  the co-author of three books on church boards. They are: Church Board Training Manual, Unhealthy Church Boards and Transforming Church Boards.
